Chip Newell and Susan Morris

Chip Newell and Susan Morris returned to Maine six years ago after decades of living all over the US and Canada. Chip first experienced Maine as a student at Bowdoin College and Susan travelled through Maine on her way to the family cottage in Prince Edward Island from Montreal while growing up.

Susan has been in the hospitality and lodging business for over 25 years, including 13 years with Marriott Hotels. Cottage guests tease her about the hotel bathroom amenities she provides and how she folds the TP prior to arrival. She is a bit of a cleanliness nut. Chip has always been in the real estate business, developing hotels, resorts, residences and condos in places as diverse as Washington, DC, Denver, western North Carolina, South Beach Miami, Puerto Rico and Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

Chip and Susan live 10 minutes away from Boothbay Cottages and Appalachee Shores in Boothbay Harbor. Far enough away to ensure your privacy and close enough to be helpful if a need arises.

This last spring Chip and Susan sold their condo in South Beach Miami and chose to live in Boothbay Harbor on a year-round basis. They love the community and have felt very welcomed by new friends.

Favorite activities include swimming, hiking, kayaking, float plane flying, and exploring towns such as Wiscasset, Bath, Damariscotta and Brunswick to discover art galleries, farmers markets , museums and shops. You will find Chip and his “Sue-Chef” cooking up the special foods of Maine, especially lobster, mussels, oysters and fresh fish and produce.

Involved with the Boothbay Region Land Trust, the Opera House, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and the YMCA and generally enthusiastic about the quality of life in the Boothbay Region, Chip and Susan are happy to share their thoughts on how to best enjoy a vacation in mid-coast Maine.
